Interior inspiration - Indoor/Outdoor Flow

With summer on its way, we're inspired by homes that have plenty of indoor-outdoor flow; homes that invite all the fresh air and sunshine inside...
porch with loungers and designer chairs
This renovated villa in Auckland's Mt Eden has absolutely mastered the concept of indoor-outdoor flow! We love the punch of lime green from the mini designer chairs at the kids' dining table. Those loungers look like a gorgeous spot to read a favourite magazine - a couple of Lujo bean bag loungers would also look great here, and would add a dash more colour.
This beach house offers up a pretty luxurious way to bring the outdoors in... imagine having an outdoor shower adjacent to the bathroom!
Wow - what a gorgeous bedroom! The outdoors become like a living work of art, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows.
beach house with bean bags and outdoor furniture
This New Zealand 'bach' is designed to take full advantage of the sea views - making the beach this family's backyard. The flaxes and other dune plants offer plenty of privacy from beachgoers. Comfy outdoor furniture - including bean bags - turn the deck into an outdoor room. (PS: We'd love to see a Lujo designer hammock under that pohutukawa tree!)
Here's the same house looking inward. I'd love to trade places with the woman in the bean bag right now!
The beautiful 'Singalati' beach house (on NZ's Wainui Beach) is available for rent... if we don't get there first! How great are those folding windows - they'd bring the beach right inside, sea-spray and all! And that window seat (built for two) invites you to lay down, switch to holiday mode and just relax...
This Sydney apartment only has a very small balcony. But with lots of potted plants and a position that soaks up the morning sun, there's still a lovely sense of outdoor living.
We've been looking at this amazing home as a location for our next Lujo photo-shoot! (It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it...) Nestled on a site at Piha beach, the modern home basks in dappled sunlight that streams through the gnarled branches of the ancient Pohutukawa trees that surround it. With walls and a ceiling that is part glass, the design was intended to re-connect the home's inhabitants with nature. Boy, does it ever. Just stunning.
